The original public toilets in School Lane which were operated and funded by West Lancashire Borough Council were closed last year in order to make savings in their budget.
Burscough Town Council have considered whether to fund the replacement of these buildings with a new, modern bespoke unisex facility and the Town Council are therefore consulting with residents and requesting your views on this matter.
The funding for such a facility if it went ahead would come from the Town Council’s Community Infrastructure Levy ( CIL ) which is a fund to be used for infrastructure works, built up from a tax levied on developers when they build new houses or commercial developments within Burscough .There would therefore be no additional cost placed on your Community Charge for this facility.
